What is the best time to visit peru? |
Travel Info for vacation including hiking to Machu Picchu Travel Tips Well as a Peruvian i would advice you to come over during June, July and August. In October the rainy times come and it isn't that fun. Now if you really want to enjoy Machu Picchu, i recommend to book a room in the Ruinas Hotel which is exactly over Machu Picchu so if you wake up early you can just get out of the hotel and take a walk around the area. Staying in the city of Cuzco is really nice but i definitely recommend that hotel for some days and then one in the city. If you stay all along in the city you wouldn't have the chance you visit the ruins as much as you want, as the city is a bit far away from Machu Picchu. Hope this information is useful! Good luck! Others You know, we've been to Peru in just about every season and it's always been beautiful. A lot depends on where you're going. The BBC Weather site has a great run-down of the weather in Peru ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/world/count... Watch out for flooding and mudslides at the end of the rainy season (our mid-winter?) but the temp can be more pleasant then in the mountains. Around Easter there are lots of celebrations so it may be difficult to get tourist services. And June 21 is a huge annual Inti Raymi festival in Cuzco, which is fun, but means crowds. From March to November, rainy season is December to March. have a look to http://www.magicglobe.com/peru/holidays.... it may have more info We were there in june around the Inti Raimi festival in Cusco and it was beautiful. Lots of kids and adults wearing colorful outfits and performing around the main plaza. |
