What are the best places to go in Cusco in Peru?

Travel Info
I'll be there a few days. So what sites? Where to hang out? Maybe a good restaurant?

Travel Tips
I liked Fallen Angel which is a fab restuarant with baths for tables and flying pigs! , Mama Americas for films in the daytime & salsa in the evenings, trotamundos for frozen lemonade. Loads of great bars and cafes.

Can't remember the name but there is a good crepe bar at the top of avenida del sol to your left.

Fab markets on avenida del sol and the "el molino" the black market near the bus station.

Cusco is the really touristy bit of peru and fun but make sure you are booked on an Inka trail if you want to take the walk. (it's amazing and not as hard as I though it would be!)

The whole of the sacred valley is great Ollaytaytambo, Pisac etc.

If there is a football match on that is a great night out.

You will have a great time, just get used to the altitude! then drink Cusquena!

Cuzco is awesome - I think you'll love it. I recommend the tour (not sure what it's called) but it's a trolley that runs from the main plaza to the top of a nearby hill (which overlooks the city - it's amazing).
I agree Cusco is one of the most interesting places in the world to visit. If you go there you have to do the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu, don't cheat and get a bus, do the 4 day trek through the mountains. It is one of the best things I have experienced in my life. You arrive at Machu Pichu on the 4th day for sunrise and it is awesome.
Enjoy!! :)

ps. partying is also good in cusco, lots of local ladies wanting to teach you to salsa in the clubs. ;)
Cusco city is beautiful, stay there for a couple a days, then go to Ollantaytambo via train from Cusco and do the Inca Trail, best way to get to Cusco and experience the whole feeling, then try to stay at hotel El Pueblo in Aguas Calientes (little town below Machu Picchu) which is a beautiful hotel and enjoy the little town in a very nice hotel, get a good massage and try the natural sauna, you will end up quite tired after the Inca Trail. The Tour operator who runs it and owns it is called Inkaterra (www.inkaterra.com) best in town. I've done many times already as I am a Peruvian living abroad and this is the only way you will enjoy this trip 100%. You can ask for a tour from Cusco City to Ollantaytambo and then depart to the Inca trail, need an excellent pair of shoes, otherwise you will loose some toe nails as the trail has some stone stairs going up and going down with a considerate height, get some sugar tablets for the altitude and some chocolate for the energy. Hope you enjoy it, is a wonderful trip!
I went to Cusco many years ago, but I know that some clubs that I went to are still great like Muky's or Las Quenas. Try to stay in a hotel near the Main Square (Plaza de Armas) 'cause most of the good restaurants, clubs and shops are near it.
You might already know about the traditional tours in Cusco...takes half a day to visit the ruins near Cusco (Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay), also visit Pisaq, Maras, Moray. You can spend the night in Urubamba and go very early in the morning to Macchu Picchu.
The inka trail is supposed to be magnificent...haven't done it yet...but some day I WILL.
Cusco is also good for adventure sports.
