What is the cost of things in Peru?

I'd like to know what the cost of living is in Peru (I guess there will be variations as there are in all countries). How much does groceries, transport, clothes, toletries etc cost.
I'm living there for a few months and would like to know how far my budget will go.

I'd prefer the priced in Soles cos the conversion rate for British pounds changes.

things in peru are very cheap and very good quality and peru is named after a river "viru"it was called like that when the ignorant spanish and portugeses did not know where they where.
they where standing in the great land of the Inca empire.
and the beer is strong and tasty , the best food in latin america now let me tell you mexican food is good but peruvian food has a lot more taste and variety,you can eat in peru for a full year without repeating a single plate, i'm scott and i lived in peru for 5 years working for a IT company i liked it so much that i bought a house in lima for only $35,000, garage,4 bedrooms etc; the capital lima is like you where in europe , high rises , huge shoping malls just like canada, exellent beaches just like ibiza i metion those places because i have been there and i can make the comparison the hotels are exellent quality , you can eat like a king with less that $250 a month. the convertion would be $1for 3.3 peruvian sol.
the peruvian economy is one of the best in latin america ,actualy the second best according to the world bank, gasoline is very cheap and high quality thanks to their self suficient oil reserves , so they dont import oil, how cheap? how about filling your tank for less than 5 dollars..... is amazing i want to go back and put a computer store.

Peru in portuguese mean duck...is the only think that i know about peru...the bear is very expensive and is mixed with water..but if you have pounds everythings gonna seems cheap for you..leave some good money in peru ..peruans people needs your money please don't be greddy ..
