What is mid-April weather like in both Machu Picchu and Cusco? |
Travel Info I don't want to travel that far and wind up with a strong possibility of crummy weather. I know there is no quarrantee. Travel Tips Well regardless of the weather you should still go. I was there in April/May this year and i loved it! Its really cold though especially at night but it can be very pleasant during the day when its sunny. I visited both places and i loved every minute of it. You should do a lot of tours in Cusco. There is so much there to see and to learn. I've never really enjoyed tours or historical stuff but the trip there was fascinating. If you have the chance you should also visit Puno. Its further and colder but its also well worth it. Our second trip was in April and, as I recall, it was dry and just slightly warm (I expected it to be cooler, which I think it usually is.) According to several sites on the web, the rainy season is from Nov. or Dec. thru March. Do go ... you'll love it. It's our favorite place in the world (besides home, of course.) Ditto what the others wrote. Have fun and good boots, warm clothes and insect repellent (deet 50% mim.). Go by train from Cusco and take the 3 day backpacking trip. Take a lite backpack w/plenty to drink and smoke (ask busboys at any hotel bar)... Oh yes, must not forget food for the munchies and lots of batteries...... Good Luck.....
