I would like to live out my $ savings in S. America but.....?

Travel Info
I don't want to live in an enclave of foreigners. I am willing to live semi rustically with basic services, quietly and humbly among the native people Sshhhhhh. Where's the sweet spot?

Travel Tips
go to Peru there are many places in the Andes and plain with many rivers and forest and small towns that are always available. and very helpful people that will make your stay a pure delight
that is also my dream, also along the coast in Peru are many small towns and beaches away from tourist and the people lives the good old way fishing farming and gathering animals.
try Peru there are many remote towns that welcome new comers i read not long ago that in the city of cajamarca many German people found this town close to the city and fell in love with it they set it up just like a German village and they still live there until now.you can even buy a used truck and work with it by just car ring stuff it is a good way to make money in Peru ,because the gasoline price does not go with the OPEC price of crude oil, Peru is not a member of the OPEC and yet they are self sufficient with their oil reserves ,what does this mean well that means the gasoline is very cheap about less than 5 dollars to fill up a tank and one of the best i have try, the comparison would be similar to chevron
go to peru and enjoy. Source(s): lived in peru for 5 years and plans to move there.

Other Travel Tips
First, south America is huge and every country is different, you can't generalize like if Argentina is like Peru or Colombia like Uruguay.

you should get informed,do some research, and then think about it.
Why not consider a little further north and check out Belize. Friendly people who speak English. Three hours to Miami. Relatively cheap land and housing. Gas is high though (currently about $5 a gallon). But so long as you are in good health, you can bike to the market. Save the car for days when you can combine your appointments. If you are over 45, you can import the car for free. Land on the northern coast is the place to be.
