Travel Info
If you were to hide in the Andean Mountains of Peru "Binladening it" for 4 + months.
1) Where in the Peruvian Andes would you hide that is almost uninhabited? (must be near a water source though)

2) what villages are near the area. (two days away from the location)

3) What type of animals would you hunt for food there?

This is for a movie. Doing research. Hard to pinpoint the exact location they need to be. THANK YOU!

Travel Tips
The southern Andes of Ayacucho and Apurimac would be your best bet. However, the Andes are almost barren at high altitudes, so hunting is scarce to almost non-existent. In the old times of terrorism in Peru, Shining Path was stationed throughout the Andes, but they got their food from terrorizing the nearby villages. When they started losing the war, they moved to the jungle (the areas of Tocache and Tambopata, close to the Mayo River).
If you search for the Huayhuash Trek, you'll find an old Shining Path base there (abandoned in 1992). The views of Huayhuash are breathtaking, so it might be a good spot for a movie. I'll be doing the trek myself sometime in May. Source(s): http://www.i-needtoknow.com/huayhuash/fa...

Other Travel Tips
There is this small town in Apurimac called Chalhuanca, that has access to lots of things, it is however in the middle of nowhere on the way from Cuzco to Lima. It's beautiful, and it has a river.
There is tons of places tho just about everywhere.
Good Luck
just know about it ;)
The least populated part of Peru is in the northern Andes, a departmento called Amazonas, capitol Chachapoyas. Drive south of Chachapoyas on a dirt road until reaching the small town of Leymebamba, around the border of Amazonas and San Martin. From Leymebamba go SE up into the cloud forests of the Andes there, lots of game, food, caves in limestone/karst geological formations, small isolated farms. I explored around an area known as the Lake of the Condors in the region. Absolutely spectacular scenery.
