Peru Pesos Are they worth anything?

Travel Info
A friend of mine has some Peru Pesos and he wants to know if they are worth anything. I checked a money exchange site and it lists Peru Soles. I am guessing that they changed the money. Any one know for sure

Travel Tips
Actually, Pesos did exist in Peru for a very short period of time from 1825 to 1858. It was created by Simon Bolivar in 1825 after helping defeating the Spanish army and reinstating the Peruvian government.
It was soon abandoned because it worked using the base 8 system (8 cents made one Peso, which made the math kind of annoying)

Make sure that coin isn't a fake, since it is very hard to find those coins. Source(s): Peruvian
Other Travel Tips
Peru hasn't had pesos for say 200 years (in the times of President Pardo when Peru had the Silver pound and the gold peso), so if he has Peruvian pesos they are either false or very old. The Sol is the currency and it goes for about 3.20 soles per 1 US$.
I live in Peru
The previous answer is correct. Pesos do not have a market value this days... If you sell them to a collectionist though... Take into account that it will be a really rare bill/coin and be pretty valuable.
Let me tell you something pal, Peru has never had pesos!!!! I have lived in Peru all my life and there have never been pesos. Pesos are from Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, but Peru has only had soles, nuevos soles, intis, intis millon, but pesos.....never so your friend must have been confused about the country.
yeap peru have never had pesos...are you sure it from peru? maybe they are fake!
