Spanish Help?

Travel Info
What is the name in Spanish of the "special meat" that people in Peru (near Machu Pichu) eat?

Travel Tips
Actually, Charky is Quechua (the old Inca tongue) and jerky is just the English version of charky. So it is a Quechua word borrowed by English.

Also, the meat is dehydrated by leaving it out in the cold of the high mountains, They also do that with potatoes and it is called Chu帽o (pronounced chunyio).
Others
I guess you mean "charqui"(char-key) which is dehidrated meat eaten since Inca times. It is a kind of jerky, mostly from llama, not beef. Charqui is eaten mainly by peasants in the highlands as they have no refrigerators there so this kind of meat can stay well for months.
