Do peruvians hate chileans?

I wonder if with all the limits problems the chileans are treated nicely in Peru. I will go there in 2 weeks, I am chilean.

I dont think so. There are chileans who insult peruvans who "steal" their jobs while sitting in Santiago's plaza de armas and there are peruvians who insult chileans for taking Arica, Iquique and Antofagasta from us! Luckily, those are a minority and we are now civilized people who dont hate people for what happened in the past. There is a problem right now with our land/sea limits but lets leave the politicians to solve it. As south americans we need to stick together and work together. We dont hate chileans, come and have a great time in Lima and see for yourself.

OK, first the background. Back in 1879, there was a war between Peru and Chile, which Chile won, taking over part of what was then Peruvian territory (much like the US did to Mexico at about the same time) and pretty much anything else which was not securely bolted to the ground (like the books of the national library, a couple of statues and a very large clock which gave not only the time, but the phases of the moon). Then, from the 1880's until 1910 they held on to Tacna (now back in Peru). So, as you can imagine, there is still a grudge between Peruvians and Chileans. However, being a Peruvian and having lived in Santiago, Chile, the grudge is latent during soccer matches and any sport where Chileans and Peruvians meet. I had a Chilean friend who lived for 10 years in Peru and I myself have lived in Chile for a couple of years and we can both say that it is totally safe.

We dont hate chileans, my grand ma was chilean and came to Peru, she lived very happy all of her years here.
