Miraflores social life?

Travel Info
I'm in Peru this summer to better my Spanish. Where in Miraflores can I use it with the locals most? Anything like movie/book clubs or anything that would involve me having lengthy conversations and not just the small chit-chat that's had at bars?

Travel Tips
Miraflores has an intense social life. You'll find the Irish pub, the Pizza's street (calle de las pizzas) Larcomar (a huge place overlooking the ocean full of bars and restaurants and discos), then lots of restaurants, around the district etc. I have no idea of movie clubs or book clubs but there are lots of theatres in Miraflores and I'm sure one the them has clubs (try Teatro Britanico, Plaza USIL in Larcomar).
I am not sure about intense conversation but the Irish pub is a great place to meet local girls/guys and talk to them in Spanish. It is a safe place to be. Peruvians are very friendly so I am sure you'll find nice people to talk to.
Others
Miraflores is very touristy and full of bars. At Larcomar you will probably hear more English than Spanish and the "Calle de las Pizzas" can be dangerous at times.
Do you really want to practice your Spanish??
Get on a bus. I believe the number 1 line still goes through Miraflores and San Isidro. Get on it and travel to Javier Prado were you get off and take the same bus back. If the number 1 line is gone (sorry, I haven't taken a bus in Miraflores for close to 20 years now), take a bus that travels from Miraflores to San Isidro. That way you travel through pretty safe neighborhoods. Pick a place, look for somebody who looks friendly and is not busy doing something and talk to him or her. Ask them, when you get to Javier Prado, what buses you need to take to get to the "Universidad Agraria"; that should get the conversation going (obviously, don't go to the Universidad Agraria, unless you have a lot of time).
Word of advise: If whoever you talk to asks you to meet them again, do it only if you know the address they give you.
