Travel Tips Hi, many countries say they need this 'document' so that you arent taking a second wife or whatever. In reality no such document exists. But what does exist is a divorce decree or death certificate from any wife u may have had. Also you will need to go to the U.S. embassy or consulate there, and swear out an affadavit saying you are 'free to marry' the embassy will then stamp it. They do this as a courtesy, its free....but in reality it just means that you SAY you are free to marry. They dont run any kind of background check or anything. Thats it, hope it helps..
