Travel Info Things you would recommend doing on a day trip to philladelphia? Travel Tips There are many many things to do in Philadelphia in a day but here are a couple of my favorites: 1) Take a walk up and down South Street. This busy little street contains all you could ever want to see in small boutique type shops from poster stores to cheap t-shirts to jewerly and beadwork/crafts to adult wears to tattoo parlors to video games. There are a few nice indoor/outdoor restaurant/cafes and a small concert venue (TLA - Theatre of the Living Arts). And at the end of the roughly 10 block stretch is the Penn's Landing pier with a great view of the Delaware River and the Bridge. 2) Phiadelphia Museum of Art...home of the famous Rocky running up the steps scene. 3)Franklin Institute (perfect if you have smaller children)...If you are going before April 23rd, be sure to check out the Body Worlds exhibit which is fascinating. 4) Check out a great off Broadway show along the Avenue of the Arts...The famed Kimmel Center, home of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Academy of the Arts and the Merriam Theatre all host famous off Broadway shows year round. 5) Journey down to South Philly and Passayunk Ave to either Pat's or Geno's, famed Philadelphia Cheesesteak hotspots right across the street from each other.
