Philadelphia SEPTA into New Jersey, train no's? |
Travel Info My husband and I will be in Philadelphia on Sunday and we want to take the SEPTA to NJ and then transfer to NY. From the 30th st station which train number do I use to get into NJ station. If someone could tell me step by step so I am not looking like a tourist who's lost her way! Thank You. Travel Tips From 30th Street station, it's the R7 line to get to the Trenton stop and board the NJ Transit line. It's probably about an hour drive, and then about another hour, to an hour and a half to get to Penn Station. Amtrak one-way is about $60, over 2x the cost of the SEPTA and NJTransit ticket, but it can be worth it and has only one stop. I just did that this past weekend, and we were hurting from a night out. A quiet and quick ride back is just the ticket sometimes. Others Ditto on jdm's answer...done both. Directions are exact. Also, if you want a nicer ride, take his advice and pay the extra $$ for Amtrak! From 30th Street station in Philadelphia: Take the R 7 train to Trenton, fare US$ 7, trip time 50 to 55 min. At Trenton there is a 10 or 15 minute connection with NJT trains: Trip to New York takes around 1 hour 30 minutes, there are two or three trains per hour, you must check the timetables to see which train is better to catch. There is another option, take the PATCO metro at Philadelphia and after the Camden-Trenton light rail but the trip it麓s a bit longer, perhaps to see more you can take it once from Trenton to Philadelphia.
