I want to vacation in Pennsylvania see the battlefields, and other historial sites. Which city? |
Travel Info Which city is the best to fly into and make your home base while you do road trips? Travel Tips I agree, go to Lancaster, and you are in the middle of Gettysburg, and Valley Forge. And not far from Philly Others Phillidelphia. Start with the Liberty Bell. I'd try Gettysburg and Colonial Williamsburg. Go to Intercourse, Pennsylvania. It has a cute Amish town with a lot of cute Amish people! It would probably be best to stay somewhere like Harrisburg or nearby. It's the capital, so that's one attraction down, and it's also pretty close to the middle of the state, so whereever you go wouldn't be too far. I would also say that Pittsburgh is a decent choice. There is a lot to do in the city, Fort Pitt is right downtown, and both Fort Necessity and the Jumonville Battleground are within a days drive (first battles in the French & Indian War). Personal experience (for Pittsburgh). It's one of my favorite places to visit. |
