Where should I stay in Philadelphia?

I'm looking for a hotel in Philadelphia that is close to some good night life for a 30 y.o. guy.

If you are looking at website for hotels, go for hotels in Olde City/Society Hill or Penn's Landing. There are a lot of bars and restaurants in that area.

For a 30 year old, you want to stay near City Hall , Lowes, Marriot, Ritz, doubletree, or west of Broad, Westin, Embassy Suites, Warwick, Latham, Rittenhouse h otels
I would point you toward the Alexander Inn (small clean boutique style hotel with great rates) near 12th and Spruce, the Holiday Inn in Old City (on 4th Street between Arch and Market)or the Courtyard Marriott which is opposite City Hall on Market Street at Broad. These are all in the Center City area, which is very compact and walkable (much like Boston) so you won't have to worry about driving, you can hail a cab anywhere too. I was in Philadelphia a month ago and stayed at the Penn's View Inn. It's in the historic area and there are lots of restaurants and clubs nearby, not to mention a ton of history. I personally liked this area a lot more than the City Hall, Rittenhouse Square areas.
