Ok I am planning on visiting this city around winter time. If I get into upenn, there will be a good chance that I will live there. I think the place may have a high crime rate!!

Other Travel Tips
True it does has high crime rate around the Philly and New Jersey area. The city is still a nice place to stay, but make sure that you find a suitable neighborhood that is not full of bullet holes. That goes for wherever you may go in the U.S.

while there is a high crime rate in Philly (and an even higher one in camden) the upscale parts of town are nice and ive had gone to some great restaraunts there
try to live in the campus, or in appts in rittenhouse sq. that area is really nice.
ehhhh Philly is a pretty icky city. They really should do more to cut down on the crime as it is sad to see one of the most historically rich cities in Pennsylvania being let go.
