I am looking to relocate to Philly from New York.Does anyone know any good apartment communities/complexes? |
Travel Info I am 24. I will work full time and attend CCp. I looked at Korman Communities and thought it was pretty good. I wanna find something near public transportation and in a safe area. Travel Tips First, yes, try Craigslist. You could also try www.phillyblog.com, for a complete breakdown of all of the neighborhoods and forums for each of them...you can talk to people and get a better idea in there. As for CCp, did you mean Comm. Coll. of Phila.? The area across the street that does a lot of renting and is a good area is the Fairmount/Spring Garden/Art Museum. This is pretty much from Spring Garden Street, north to Girard and then the Museum on the West to Broad street on the east...that's that general area roughly. It's not too bad, nor is it too expensive. There isn't a whole lot of night life there (a few bars, more by the art museum) but you're across the street from the college with the Broad Street line right there. Even walking into Center City from there is only about <1mile and is relatively safe. You could also try Northern Liberties. That's a newly sprouting area with a ton of food and great bars. The Market-Frankford El stops on Spring Garden Street there and makes it's way all of the way to 69St in West Philly. You'd need only transfer at Broad Street and take that for a block to get to CCP...it's about 20 minutes probably. Even if you can't find something you like in NL, Old City and South Street are also short walks away (<2 miles). I don't know about the names of all of the renters in the areas I mentioned, though Tower Investments is building a lot in NL. I will say though that there 1010 North Hancock building...while pretty cool looking and nicely done somewhat...is extremely loud as far as wood ceilings and floors go...it's like a loft. You should check out www.northernliberties.org if you're really interested in that area.
