philly is awesome. its the city of brotherly love. i went to school at a university in the east falls section (it boarders germantown, roxboro, and manyunk).

manyunk has the main street bar scene. it has one of the best diners in the world.

the rail lines (regional, meaning they go from center city out to suburban communities) comes to every stop every 45 minutes. regional rail costs 3 bucks at the station (when open) at every stop. its five bucks 3 dollar regular ride fee+2 dollar surchage fee if u get on the train w/o a ticket (this is only applies if the station at the stop is open, meanin different stations at each stop has different hrs., during the mass transit hrs. of operation). 3 dollars still if trains are running but station at the stop is closed.

philadelphians def. do loooooooooovvvvvvvveeeee there city sports teams (like there pro sports teams, especially the professional teams).

big cheesesteak rivalries. pats versus genos in south philly and delassandros versus chubbys in roxboro.

below r sum usefull websites so u can get sum more in depth info.

good luck!

the areas of philly are really different. If you want something that is in the midst of the city, try looking at places in the OLD CITY area or the RITTENHOUSE area. Both of these areas have great restaurants, great shopping, great bars and clubs, parks, alot of options for public transportation..its downtown. It may be somewhat pricey. Manayunk is pretty nice too. Same as the above, but a lot smaller. check out the below web site

Philadelphia is a great city. Screw LA and San Diego for these places pale when compared to Philadelphia. Whatever you do don't leave the northeast. Everywhere else sucks. People in California seem to think that they are all of the Hollywood crowd. And southerners are just hicks.
People are real hear. And people seem to know there place in society.
Life here is rough for some others have it great.
Stroll down a street on society hill and just inhale the American History then go down to Rittenhouse. No other city, other than new york, offers more walking adventures than Phili.
Let's see,
Race is sort of tough here. It's a very Black and White place, so there can be tension. But tension is what makes a place a place instead of some viagra suburb.
Move to Philadelphia and you'll never regret it.
good luck searching for homes!
