Travel Info What are some good places to vist in Philidelphia, PA? Travel Tips The obvious area is around the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and South Street. If you're into the cheesesteak thing, you can head to South Philly for Pat's or Gino's (or both). However, what I would recommend in addition to the usual historical sites around Independence Park are the museums. The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Franklin Institute (science museum) are close together on the Ben Franklin Parkway, which is also interesting itself. Also, the often forgotten, but amazing University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology at 33rd and Spruce Streets, right over the Schuylkill river from Center City (downtown). This museum is the place to go if you like ancient civilizations -- tons of Egyptian, Mesopotamian, and Mesoamerican artifacts. And, to compliment the new King Tut exhibit at the Franklin Institute (starting in February), the University Museum has an exibit on the Amarna Period of ancient Egypt opening Nov. 12. Others The liberty bell is a must. Also try to stop by Pats or Ginos for an authentic Philly cheesesteak. The Liberty Bell totally! IT ROCKS! Also, try the King of Prussia Mall!lol! eagles game,south street,ginos and pats,eagles pep rally......yeah im a philly girl. Go to the Zoo, On Monday night go to Chickies & Pete's. SOUTH SRTEET!!! You can get a philly cheese steak (my sisters friend said it wasn't that good) But you might have adifferent taste since she is just a 12 year old. When my family and I went in 2003 on our way to New Jersey we went to see the liberty bell. (We expected more, the Liberty Bell is smaller than we expected) Be careful wehn it comes to crossing the street, my sister almost got hit. And there is a street that has all diamond shops going up and down the street. I had fun for that 2 hours or 1 hour and I know you can do the same. |
