What mode of transportation is best from brick nj to philadelphia?? |
Travel Info i am trying to avoid traffic (as much as possible) and paying too much for parking. Travel Tips There is no good route from Brick to the city. Route 70, depending on the time of day you go, can take hours. As for parking, you don't mention where in the city you're going so I can't recommend a place. I will say that Liberty Place is one of the most expensive garages in the city but they have a great car wash. You can get your car hand washed for less than $20 and they do a fabulous job. The underground garage at 16th and JFK is a little more reasonable. It's under the visitor's center. There is a garage between Broad and 13th and between Walnut and Locust, kind of across the street from Sister's Bar. I can't remember the name of the little street it's actually on, but it's definitely cheaper than the others. Another person recommend taking the train which could work for you. Patco has several stops in Center City. Others -----I do not know Brick, NJ, but I love riding Amtrack. I have three times ridden on their 30-Day North American Railpass. -----Jim I would say take the Train seems like a short inexpensive ride and avoding traffic as well as saving on parking From looking at a map, it seems that Route 70 is the only main route that will take you from Brick to the Philly area. You should check www.njtransit.com to see if they have any buses that run that route. It seems to me that your best bet is to drive to a train station and take the train the rest of the way into Philly. Parking in Center City is horrible! You could drive to a stop on the Atlantic City Line (NJ Transit). The last stop on that line before Philly is in Cherry Hill on route 70. Another possible train is the PATCO high-speed line (www.drpa.org), which is probably a bit further of a drive for you, but it runs much more often and is faster than the Atlantic City train. Hope that helps :) |
