Travel Info Is Philly shrinking in size? Why? Why does everyone think of Philly as a dirty, ugly city? Seriously, nobody thinks of Philly as being sexy, cosmopolitan despite its size. I think everyone regards it as New York City's ugly step-sister...why? Are people leaving as fast as possible? Travel Tips I'm from Philly, i been to NY a million times, NY has its bad areas just like Philly has its bad areas. we are not the ugly step-sister, were just known as angry. Whats so wrong with that anyway??? Plus we got lots of hot puerto ricans that live in north ;) Others I'm a Philly girl and some parts of Philadelphia is very beautiful, like Center City, Rittenhouse, Olde City. But look at the larger areas of Philly such as West Philly (until you hit University City) and almost ALL of North and NE Philly is actually pretty rough. Don't get me wrong I love my city, but it's not as beautiful as you claim. Just take the Market-Frankfurt from 69th street to North Philly and look the window. I live in North Philadelphia and I really don't like it. There are dealers everywhere, random gun shots, stray cats everywhere, but this my home and right now can't afford to move. The part I like most about North Philly is I find alot on my people (Puerto Rican) in this section. The chinese restaurants stay open late and there are always people around blasting different types of music. Center City is nice, Penns Landing, South Street, Fairmount Park is nice, Kelly Drive and West River Drive are nice rides. I guess there is good and bad everywhere. |
