Others About 120,000 in the city of Philadelphia. About another 85,000 in the entire Philadelphia Metropolitan Area(mostly in Southern NJ and the post-industrial cities that lie in a satellite ring outside Philadelphia). Its not a very affluent community, mostly Puerto Rican then Dominican, Mexican, Ecuadorean and poor. I guess those number are about right and growing. Most live in North Phila or South Philly. A number have open businesses here in West Philly. About half of Camden across the river is Hispanic also. There is a large migrant work work in DelCo. around the Mushroom farms down there. My husband grew up in Ricanville North Phila if that says it all! |
