Travel Info i checked the criminal data released recently, which indicates The percentage of Murder is 5 times higher than national average, the percentage of rape is 3 times higher than the national average,the percentage of robbery is 5 times higher than national average, the assault rate is 3 times higher than national average. accordingly, it's not a safe city, do you think so?. in depth,which areas are safe in that city? Travel Tips While Philly is really cool place with tons of things to do on any give day, it can be dangerous to those who are not cautions. North Philly, Port Richmond, West Philly and parts of South Philly (just outside of center city) are the worst locations (high drug activity, crime, murders, etc). There are many safe locations out in the Northeast (the far end of town), West Philly (near the city line), and some areas in the far northwest (Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill, Roxbourogh, Manayunk). As with any big city, if one minds their surroundings, stay away from criminal activity, don't visit certain places after dark, lock up home and cars (don't leave valuables in plain sight), one should be fine. Others Philly is a cool town. It is the citizens who make a city a pleasant or a dangerous place to live in!
