~During the 1960's, there was a section of Camden, New Jersey that erupted into riots that lasted for three days. The section where it occured was nicknamed by the cops as "Camden Town" because that section was like it's own little town (ghetto). No one went into it unless they lived there. "Camden Town" had more murders per year than Detroit. Although drive by shootings are associated with Los Angeles, Camden had drive bys long before they started in LA.

The area has since changed and quite a bit of money was put into "rehabilitating" the area. Apparently it is no longer as dangerous as it once was but it's still not the safest place to hang out.

Camden is a city in New Jersey, just across the Delware River from Philadelphia. It has the dubious distinction of being the murder capital of the US within the last couple of years but there is now a lot of development money going into the area so things seem to be improving. It is also home to an aquarium, a few theatres and Campbell's Soup.

Camden TOWN is a suburb of London, UK, just to the north side of the city. It is quite a trendy place to live and has a very cool open-air market nearby on weekends.
