Travel Info What are some good bars to hang out at in Philadelphia? We are staying at Penn's Landing.? Travel Tips Mexican post Positano Coast Buddha Kahn Spasso Society Hill Hotel Fork Tangerine Others Where about in Penn's Landing? The Hyatt? If that's the case, you've prbably found the bars by now. In case you haven't...head over to the other side of I-95...the city side. You'll find a ton of spots on South Street and Old City (Market Street). There is a place called Kildare's off of South Street, and that's not so bad a place. The bars around that block are all pretty good IMO. As for Old City...it's kind of like a special kind of bar scene. Some people love it, some loathe it...you'll have to see for yourself. Mostly, it's pretty nice there and the bars are loaded. The Penn's Port Pub is a great place to hang out. It is just south of you right after the walmart on the right hand side. It has a nice crowd of blue and white collar people. I dont know about the guys but the girls in there are always very pretty. Been there many times. Good depends on what you like. Here are a couple of suggestions: Independence Brew Pub - 12th and Filbert - many beers, good bar menu (Near Hard Rock Cafe) Mexican Post (2nd and Chestnut) - big friendly bar, very good mexican grub Buffalo Billards (2nd and Chestnut) - a bit more trendy, lots of beers on offer There are a few places along the Delaware. There's a Dave & Buster's if you like the bar/arcade scene. If you like a nice neighborhood bar, try the North 3rd street bar in Northern Liberties. Old City - lots of clubs, but a few cool places like World Fusion. Some loungey types like Suede and Denim. Polly Esther's is fun -3 floors of music, 70s, 80s and hip hop I think. Hop down to South street and hang at Downey's or Fat Tuesday's. Also John's is cool. Whiskey Dix usually has good music. Depending on what you want.... I like Mexican Post, Brazil's , Plough...(all walking distance from Penns Landing) I think some of these have been mentioned. A short cab ride can get you to South Street Blues 21st & South. The Irish Pub (2 locations, Monks...have fun. |
