Travel Info I just moved to philly and i need some fun places to go. Please helpppppp.? Travel Tips Check out the Laff House on South Street. It's a fun comedy club, and their food is pretty good. Just don't sit right in the front if you don't feel like becoming part of the comedy routine. :) http://www.laffhouse.com/index.html... You should also definitely check out the Philadelphia Museum of Art (http://www.philamuseum.org/), and if you go on Sundays, you "pay what you wish." The Bubble House is a great place to go, as well. They serve bubble tea and lots of yummy food, like spring rolls. http://philadelphia.citysearch.com/profi... And of course, you have to hit up all of the historic places, such as Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Here's more info: http://www.historicphiladelphia.org/... (And if you're into this sort of thing, you can take a ghost tour of historic Philly. It's a fun way to learn the history of Philly and to walk around at night. http://www.ghosttour.com/philadelphia.ht... Speaking of historic, you should also check out the Reading Terminal Market. I think it's like the oldest farmer's market in the US or something, but it's amazing. Tons of fresh produce, wine, cheese, etc to buy. http://www.readingterminalmarket.org/... And some good restaurants you should hit up are the historic City Tavern (everyone dresses up in period clothing, and the food's really good): http://www.citytavern.com/ and Penang in Chinatown (great asian fusion food at a great price): http://www.phillychinatown.com/penang.ht... And lastly, Buddakan (http://www.buddakan.com/) and Pod restaurant (http://search.cityguide.aol.com/philadel... are apparently great restaurants to go to, but I've never been there. Haha, can you tell that I love Philly? I lived in the Philly area for 4 years, and it's still my favorite city. Have fun! Source(s): I also used to write for www.aroundphilly.com, an online guide to Philadelphia. It's a great website that lists tons of activities, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc in Philly. Other Travel Tips good question. Check out the Art Museum (of course, and be sure to stand at the top of the steps and do the "Rocky" thing) Check out the Mutter Museum, perhaps the strangest place in the world! "More than just Ice Cream" on South Street. Be sure to sample the two kinds of cheesesteaks. Pat's is best, of course... Check out GoPhila.org. It's the city's official visitors site - there are tons of things to see and do listed here. Also, sign up for the weekly discount e-mail. There are amazing deals...half-price theater tickets, discounts on all sorts of concerts and other events. Also check out www.Meetin.org - make friends not money! It's a great way to meet people whether you're new in town or not. And, it's a free site. http://www.meetin.org/ BTW, More than Just Ice Cream is a fab little restaurant - have the chicken salad with grapes, save room for the ice cream. It's on Locust near 12th, not South St. GoPhila.org Meetin.org Check out south st. or the clubs on delaware ave just to name a few |
