Anyone know about the Chocolate Works Apartments in Olde City Philadelphia, PA? |
Travel Info If anyone has lived there..how are the apartments and the neighborhood. Are there alot of people around at night? Anything Else I need to know???? Travel Tips I've never been to the apartments, but they seem to be in a good enough location... It's close to the bridge, so it's easy to get in and out of the city. It's a short walk to Old City and Northern Liberties...depending on your style, one or both locations would be great. Old City tends to be a little trendier though and it definitely draws a bigger crowd. I've walked around there at night and really never had a problem, but with anything, you need to keep an eye out. You're less than 5 blocks away from some Federal Buildings (The Mint, SSN, etc.) and The Roundhouse (the main police building), so there's always that piece of mind. I guess about the olny thing that I can say though is that the bridge may be a bit loud (don't know for sure though) but I will say, if it's a loft, make sure you pay attention to the construction and the noise. I moved into a loft not too far from there and ended up hating it because of the noise that flowed in between apartments...the city seems to be plagued with that kind of place. Others I lived there! I loved it- but you can here your neighbors and your roommate! They shot a movie there at the church across the street- the movie that escapes my mind- the one with Bruce Willis- "I can see dead people"- darn it! I liked it there- lots of stuff to do and there is a spot on the roof for residents- great views A friend of mine used to live there - she liked the apartment well enough but the area can be a little desolate/isolated. Old city has certainly picked up in the past 4-5 years: cafes, shops, galleries nearby. Chocolate Works wouldn't be my first choice, but it's not a bad area and is very close to downtown. |
