What is the best way to get from Philadelphia airport to Annapolis, MD? |
Travel Info i'm flying into Philly but don't want to rent a car if I don't have to Travel Tips Take Septa communter rail - it runs from the Phila airpot - to 30th St Penn Station.(about $6) Transfer to Amtrak at 30th St Station. You can purchase a ticket online to save a bit of time. You'll be in Baltimore BWI airport in a couple of hours. BWI is about 30 minutes from Annapolis. That is likely to be the best way if you would rather have someone else do the driving. The other posts and mine assume that you are a little more adventurous and maybe want to save money but not necessarily time. After taking SEPTA from Philly's airport to the train station, take Amtrak's regional service. From Philly's 30th St. Station to BWI Airport takes 2 hours on Amtrak. Once you arrive at BWI Airport, you can take a shuttle bus from the train station to the terminal. There is an Annapolis Transit service which goes from BWI Airport to Annapolis. I believe the route is the C-60 BUT the shuttle comes every 2 hours from 7 AM to 5 PM (last bus leaves BWI Airport at 5:45 PM) and does not run on weekends or Saturdays. http://www.ci.annapolis.md.us/info.asp?p... Let me make a better suggestion, if you get off at the BWI Airport Station, take the #17 bus to the Patapsco Light Rail Station (the bus will say Patapsco). At Patapsco, take the #14 bus to Annapolis. The #14 bus will drop you off at the Annapolis State House. Both the #14 and #17 buses run 7 days a week and you can review schedules at http://www.mtamaryland.com. This assumes that you are staying near the State House. Going back to what I said above, landing in Philly provides you with an array of public transit options. If public transit does not interest you, take a shuttle from Philly to Annapolis and enjoy your stay in Annapolis. |
