Travel Tips I love the history of the City, its proximity to DC and NYC, the multicultural mix of its people, the physical beauty of the river and surrounding countryside, and the lovely architecture in the area. I don't like the remanents of the old class structure and the dying economy. It needs a leader, like Baltimore had, to help it capitalize on its assets and return to its place as a great American city. Others it is a dying city fast becoming further violent and impoverished. It is sad, I see it happening first hand. I actually stopped hanging out in the city as it is just not what it used to be. It is too bad that our governer is not stepping in and doing something to revitalize and clean up this city. it is one of such high historical value. sad. These sports fans are rude and obnoxious especially the hockey and football fans! The Governor Ed Rendell is a pig! ihe first thing I remember is betsy rosses house.also theres an old cemetary ,lots of art,a liberty bell and it was the very first time in my young life that I had seen a large black man wearing a miniskirt,hose, and makeup. I guess I remember it as historical town with weirdos hanging around it.That wasnt all that I saw. Dreary in some ways but interesting in other ways. Philly is unique because of the history mixed with the modern industrial hardcore feel.But it is very true to life and the American experience. Smokers! Its seems like everyone here smokes - GROSS!!! I live there |
