What is there to do around Gettysburg? |
Travel Info We're visiting Gettysburg and Lancaster County and I'm wondering what we shouldn't miss. We want to see some of the historical sites but also love hikes and other outdoor stuff. If you know of a good website that shows activities in the area, please tell me. I've searched a lot and I can't find anything. Travel Tips Bike Tours: http://www.gettysbike.com/ Railroad: http://www.gettysburgrail.com/ Visitor Information Center: http://www.gettysburg.com/ Ghosts of Gettysburg www.ghostsofgettysburg.com Land of Little Horses Farm http://www.landoflittlehorses.com/... PA Dutch Country Website: http://www.padutchcountry.com/ http://www.800padutch.com/ Covered Bridge Driving Tours: http://www.co.lancaster.pa.us/lanco/cwp/... Lancaster County Winery http://www.lancastercountywinery.com/... http://www.nissleywine.com/ PA Ren Faire (this place is AWESOME) http://www.parenfaire.com/indexfaire.htm... Others Gettysburg is awesome. I live in PA, but have only been there once. I went on a ghost tour, and toured the different museums in the area. There was one museum that, I think, used to be a hotel, and Abe Lincoln stayed there. The battlefield itself is amazing. It's hard to believe that there was so much carnage... You'll love it! It's in my top 3 of places to visit!!!!!!!!!! Search by state tourism..There's Sharpsburg in Maryland (Not too far from Gettsburg)..Chambersburg is a few miles west, they've got some civil war history. It's a nice area.. |
