Travel Tips
Agree with the first poster...Doylestown is the town to live in if you are going to live in Bucks County. Pretty town with a top notch school district, plus access to Philly. If you want to go out a bit, I would recommend Quakertown, but then you give up the access to Philly. I would stay away from Bensalem or Levittown, which are just outside of the city limits.

If looking at Philly suburbs, you may want to consider some of the towns on the Main Line in Montgomery County (although they are very pricey) or even consider Chester County....West Chester is a nice town there in my opinion.
Others
I would definitely recommend Bucks County, especially the Doylestown area. The schools in the Central Bucks school district are great, and Doylestown is a lovely, safe, little town.
Grew up in Doylestown.
Langhorne and Yardley are also nice neighborhoods and closer to the city on 95. Langhorne also runs along route 1 which turns into the boulevard and runs into the city. That town is probably the closest to the city in Bucks County and the nicest out of those that directly border the city limits. As the others said, Doyelstown is also nice, but a longer distance from the city. Also, Bensalem has some nice neighborhoods, schools, and people. You would just want to check it out first to see because some parts are better than others.
I agree, bucks county is nice to live in and the school districts are nice. With the exception of bristol, it is kind of rough. Pennsbury schools and councl rock school districts are pretty good. Beware, it can be very expensive especially near newtown, doylestown and langhorne.
Holland, New Hope, Langhorne are very nice... I love Bucks County- I grew up there. It depends on what you are used to it is hard to say.... I would probably try and stay in the Upper Part of Lower Bucks. Pennsbury School District is going to be the best in the area for your kids. Go to the Phillyburbs.com site and check out the police log to find out the places that report the most crimes. Probably Bristol Township and Bensalem....But there are areas of them that are very nice. Good Luck!
