Hershey pa, or williamsburg va? |
Travel Info If anyone out there has been to both areas, which would you consider best for a family vacation? Thanks!! Travel Tips Both would be good for a family vacation. It just really depends on what you're looking for. Williamsburg is personally, my favorite. I LOVED Williamsburg. It's definitely more educational than Hershey, but it's still a ton of fun. I could have just spent days and days going to the different historic shops and homes in Colonial Williamsburg. Then, after a day of Colonial Williamsburg, you can drive up to Jamestown for some more historic fun. :) And when you're had your fill of history, you can go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Hershey, on the other hand, is also an interesting place. But I've found that after doing the Hershey factory (which wasn't as great as I thought it would be), and after going to Hershey Park, there isn't much more to see. You're really in the middle of nowhere. You can hit up some farmer's stands on the side of the road, but then that's all about all there is to do. Nevertheless, Hershey would still make for a good vacation! So, good luck and have fun! I hope I helped. Others Hershey. In addition to the park and zoo and Chocolate World (which are always family favorites) you can visit the chocolate spa and the outlets at hershey. Who doesn't want to vacation somewhere that smells like chocolate? I have been to both places, and I think Williamsburg had more to offer,in historical places as well as busch gardens. Hershey I'm biased because I'm from Philly originally and have been to Hershey several times. Riding from Philly to Hershey on a clear day, you can smell the chocolate in the air as you get closer and closer. The park is fun for the whole family, you can take a tour to see how Hershey makes their delicious top notch candies and now there is a resort that has been featured on the Travel channel, an outlet for shopping, Hershey,PA hands down!! I have been to both numerous times and I love them both. There is more to do in Williamsburg. Hershey has Chocolate World, Hershey Park, Zoo America, Gettysburg and some Amish stuff. Williamsburg has Busch Gardens, Water World, Historic Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. I will say that Williamsburg is much hotter and more humid than Hershey in the summer. I would rather go to Williamsburg. We used to live in Bucks County, PA and we had season passes to Busch Gardens, but not Hershey Park. However if your kids are too small to ride the big kid rides Hershey is a better choice. Not too far from Hershey is another park called Knoebels and it's really good for small kids. http://www.visitwilliamsburg.com/index.a... http://www.hersheypa.com/ http://www.knoebels.com/ |
