Weekend In Philly-Any Suggestions?

Travel Info
My wife and I live in NYC, but this is our first trip to Philly. We will basically be there for Saturday and Sunday. Any "Must Do's"?
Anything at all will be appreciated.

Well you probably know Philly is known for their cheese steaks but you're from NYC so it's really nothing special.

I always wanted to try the dinner theater near South Street. (link below)

South Street is a must. --shop, eat, bars, explore--quite interesting at night.

Ritten House Square - very nice...there's the Ritten House Sq Park where people just lay and relax, a lot of nice places to eat.

Walnut Street & Chesnut Street-- more shopping and fun exploring. Walnut Street has theaters (plays/shows)

Have fun!!

Stay away from southwest Philly though. We're already up to 140+ murders this year! wooohoooo
Yes. You should walk around center ciy & old city & see the sights. Like the Liberty Bell & the constitution center, even city hall (middle of city- meets at market & broad st.s). You can see Elfreth's Alley, whcih is in Old city. It is the oldest block in the US that people still live on. & you can see Betsy Ross's home. Also you can take a 'ride the ducks' tour & it will take you to Penn's Landing & the Delaware River, which is nice to see. Eat a cheesesteak at Pat's or Gino's in South Philly(9th & Passyunk) & also see the Italian Market in SOuth Philly, which was shown alot in Rocky. & don't forget the beautiful art museum. If you want to go in, it is fre on Sundays. ENJOY!!

Every time wo go to Philly we go to Pat's and Gino's so we can try both then argue who has the better cheesesteak(split a sandwich). Most museums are on one street and they are good for a Sunday afternoon. I love, love the Frankin. I also recommend a walk in South Philly near all the cheesesteaks, there are some cool stores. There is a great adult toy store(like babeland but cheaper and better) on 5th. My boyfriend are also from New York and will be visiting this weekend. Those are some of the things we do when we are there. Our itinerary is like this-
Sat- have lunch then check in, settle, change clothes, go to 5th and walk around, dinner at Pat's and Gino's, off to a concert, hit some bars and drink ourselves silly
Sun- breakfast at hotel, checkout, hit museums, have a late lunch at this great crab place, drive back
Have a great time and if you see a couple eating cheesesteaks from New York say hi!
Let's be real, if you are from NYC, South Street is going to fail by comparison. There is nothing really to do on South Street, I don't know why people always suggest it as a "must see and do." May I suggest you :

Call the Franklin Institute and get some tickets to see the King Tut exhibit;
Try the Zoo;
Try Independence Mall (the Liberty Bell);
The Besty Ross House;
Edgar Allen Poe's House;
DiNardo's for crabs;
Penn's Landing for a great view; you can take a ferry ride over to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden;
Get a cheesesteak from anywhere but Pat's or Geno's;
Get a soft pretzel;

I hope this helps!
