Travel Info What do you think about us and our murder rate? Travel Tips I think the city will be going through a rebirth. I think there is a lot of interest in Philly. I think what Philly needs to do is vote the right people into office....I live close by in an NJ suburb.... But I feel like a part of Philadelphia. I think the money has to go back into Education. I am hoping the city will reassess large areas like South Philly and Fishtown where housing is now going for higher than ever and require that money be spent in education and police. Although all of this is easy to say from a NJ suburb. Others Lookin' to move... and fast! Its bad. They call it Killadelphia now. I love my city, but honestly I want to move to the suburbs for my son's sake. I hear gunshots all night. More cops would help, even though it has gotten better than it was like 10 yrs ago. But in the last few yrs its been getting worse. Now kids own guns & noone fights anymore they all put out guns. A friend of mine got killed b/c he was fighting over a girl & the guy he was fighting was scared b/c he was beating him, so he shot him 1 time & it killed him. wasn;t even on the news.. Lived there for most of my life (40 years) & loved it; but I recently moved to New Jersey & would NEVER go back to Philly!!! I loved Old City & miss Pats Steaks, but that's about it. I just can't believe how many people are running around the city shooting people!!! It's at least one a day, if not more....what's happening??? Where's the Mayor & what is he doing about it??!!! Well this is what you get with one party rule for 60 years..... It's home. I grew up here, My roots are here. I went to school here. It would be a nicer place if we could deport about half of the garbage people and spay and nutter the rest. Murders? Mostly drug stuff & domestic stuff. I tend to avoid both. That and my 9mm Hi power & CCW permit keep me AOK. The Mayor is a loser & so is the police commissioner. The replacements? Not very inspiring (Same old pols looks for a new job) The taxes are too high, the school system is in need of a savior with ther will to expel a few hundred scum. The unions and city rule make business development hard. To many people in need to lose the hood mentality (loose the baggy pants, the white t shirts, and learn a word other than F*ck). Till that changes? The future is hazy. I'm on the fence, about staying. Philly is and always will be home even though I don't live there anymore. Too much family still stays there including my pop and brothers. I love going back to visit when I can, but every time I hear about the murders, I'm thankful to be in my current home of NC. A part of me will always be Philly and I think City Hall is a big reason why the problems are present, you want Philly to come up, elect the right people into office. phillys absolutely disgusting , i hate it here.. and this is coming froma New yorker! |
