Travel Info I am visiting there in early july and trying to think of what to do. Suggestions? Travel Tips If you like art be sure to make it to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Try the Reading Terminal Market for good food - it's a huge farmer's market. South Street is fun if you are young - lots of interesting stores and sights. If you like sports try the sports complex and take in a Phillies game. Do some exploring in Center City and see the LOVE sculpture or check out Penn's Landing. Independence Hall/Liberty Bell/City Hall Run up the Art Museum steps like Rocky, and go inside! Walk around the other side at night and see Boat House Row lit up. It's awesome! You could also see King Tut (although it's just okay) and check out the Franklin Institute. Little Italy/Reading Terminal are fun as well. So is South Street. Eat at Jon's on 3rd or 4th street if you go. GET A CHEESESTEAK from either Jim's Pat's or Genos before or after going to a Phillies game!! JUST WALK AROUND AND ENJOY! :) The Franklin Institute; The Art Museum; Mutter Museum, Independence Mall; Reading Terminal Market(shopping and food); Penns Landing; Franklin Mills, The Gallery for shopping, Philly Zoo(oldest in US/ best), soft pretzels, cheesesteaks(my spot when I go home is Ed's up on Ogontz Ave near my old 'hood), South Street, African-American Museum of History, the Italian Market(Stallone immortalized it in "Rocky"), Manayunk/Main Line; Chestnut Hill(shopping/food), Phillies game |
