Whats the cheapest way to get to NYC from philadelphia? |
Travel Info someone told me there is a train thats only about 30 bucks but im not having any luck finding anything cheap! help? Travel Tips The Chinatown buses are DEF the way to go! The trains that your friend is telling you about is the Regional Rail ( R7 ). You take the Septa R7 from 30th Street and it ends at Trenton, and then right next to it is NJ Transit to Penn Station in NYC. It costs approx $30. Source(s): www.septa.org Other Travel Tips try the chinatown buses...leave chinatown in nyc thru to philly. $12..http://www.2000coach.com/newyorkphilly.h... NJ transit train. Leaves from trenton. You can catch a SEPTA R7 toTrenton from Phila & change over. Amtrak has direct service. Call 1800-usa-rail for price. The R7 into Trenton is one half of the route and is about a 60-75 minute ride. There are multiple stops to get on or off, and maybe save a few bucks, but I've always left from 30th Street Station. It runs along I-95 for awhile...look up a route map. Once you get into Trenton, the NJ Transit line runs to Penn Station, and that's about another 60-75 minutes. Amtrak will be faster and more comfortable, but you're looking at about $65/one-way. The route back is the same, just in reverse obviously. I always take the Septa train to Trenton and then take NJ Transit train to NYC. Take the train from Philly to Trenton to NYC. What ever you do, don't go near those unlicensed China town buses! They break down half the time and smell like cooked dog meat! |
