Help with locating someone in Pennsylvania? |
Travel Info I am trying to locate an address for someone who lives in Bloomsburg, PA. The problem is that she does not have a local phone, only a cellphone and it has been disconnected. Isn't there a website locally in a town that will locate people by address? HELPPPP Travel Tips Okay this is kinda tricky so stay with me... go to this site http://www.columbiapa.org/gis/disclaimer... Once here click on the link that says "Accept Disclaimer and Enter GIS Viewer". It's in the top left hand corner of the page. A Columbia County Viewer will pop up in a new window. *Make sure all pop-up blockers are off, or allow pop-ups from the sites each time you get to a new one.* When this new window pops open there will be a toolbar under the title of the page, with stuff like zooms and ID. You want to click on the icon that says "Search DB." You can now search by the Owner's name. If your friend is married, you may need to consider the spouses name when looking for the address. A general good rule of thumb is to just enter the last name. There will be more results, but sometimes names are listed as intitials, or one persons name or both. Last name works best. This will give you a list of all the people in the county with that last name. You should be able to sort through and find a property with a name matching your friends information. The address is listed next to the name. If the person she is looking for lives in a different county, try googling [name of city] [state] "county". This will tell you what county the person lives in. Then google [name of county] county assessor. This will get you the county assessors page. Some counties in PA have free searching of public property records. If this is so, you want to search by owner name. It will be similar to the process that I described above with just a bit more research involved. Generally there are property records searches, GIS searches, or assessor records searches. Most are free, some are not, and some counties do not allow searching online.
