I would mix a trip to Philly with a trip to the Dutch Country (Lancaster County of even Harrisburg) as well as the Poconos and the Jersey Shoreline. I would spend a couple of days exploring Philly and then a couple days at one of the spots I mentioned. It all depends if you want history, the beach, or the mountains. As far as cheap, I would stay outside of Philly and commute into the city daily...hotels are cheaper in the burbs and the transit system operates well into the evening. |
