What is the closest grey hound bus station to Knoxville, TN (do not want knoxville station, YUCK!!)? |
Travel Info Need a bus that will run to Myrtle Beach, SC from Knoxville TN. Or within a 50 mile radius. Already set with Myrtle beach station. Need to find a station close to Knoxville. Travel Tips You know, I live in Knoxville, and I agree the bus station is really nasty. It's at an intersection of 2 streets (central and magnolia) that is a pretty rough area and there's always bums hanging around. Let me suggest, save the money and go directly to the Knoxville stop, but instead of hanging around at the station, walk 1 block down central street (across the railroad tracks) and you'll be in the old city. It's a real cool old part of downtown, with a bunch of cool bars, shops, coffee shops, etc. I live in a cool loft apartment in the old city, and there's plently of cool little places to chill out (without all the bums and crackheads) while you wait for the next bus, or your ride. I know what you're talking about, the area of that bus station, (we refer to that area as "The Bad side of the tracks") But, just walk one block across the tracks, and there will be cool stuff to do. There is a really good pizzaria called barley's with 100 beers on tap. There's a good coffee shop called Java, good bakery called magpies. All on the same street, and a good alternative to sitting at the bus station in Knoxville. Hope that helps Others Here's a list of the Greyhound stations in Tennessee http://www.greyhound.com/scripts/en/tick... The Morristown, TN station is the only other Greyhound station within 50 miles of Knoxville... But I'm not sure I understand why you'd want to drive 50 miles to a bus station when there's one in Knoxville, however gross it may be. |
