In N.E Philly, strawbridges had a basement with scratched/broken, but new furniture. it's now gone since? |
Travel Info Macys took over, but does anyone know of a similar place like this in the area? Thanks! Travel Tips Levitz has a warehouse that sells slightly damaged furniture. I bought a curio there for about $160-- excellent condition; GREAT DEAL! Mealey's has a warehouse sale on the last weekend of every month. You can find some good deals there, too. Both of these warehouses (and a few others) are out toward Langhorne. They do not deliver. So, you have to work out your own pick-up and delivery. We happened to by the curio and a loveseat from Mealey's on the same weekend. Rented a U-Haul to pick up the items on Sunday. It worked out fine, and it was much cheaper. Others I would say go to Rent A Center (best bet) and ask what price they are willing to sell their floor models outright. Sometimes they also have close to new, recently repossesed items in stock. Other stores that have furniture might also sell floor models at a discount price. You have to ask. Ikea in Conshohocken has an "as is" section where they sell slightly damaged returns. Somnia also has an outlet in Montgomeryville next to their store. Not sure the stuff is damaged though, probably just overstock.
