Travel Info How much does it cost to take the train/subway from Philadelphia to New York? Travel Tips If you take AmTrak, take the Acela express from the 30th Street Station straight into Penn Station (34th Street) . It gets you to NY in 70 minutes and is only $90. For a cheaper ride, you can take the regional service (also direct from 30th street station to Penn), which gets you there in 90 minutes for as low as $45. Check out amtrak.com for rates, dates, and times. Others You want to take the R7 Regional Rail from 30th street station. That train takes you to trenton, and then you switch trains (they are usually next to each other on the track) and then it continues on to Penn Station. It costs about $30 round trip tops. www.septa.org Regional Rail R7 The Keystone Line costs about $60 one way. I believe there is an Amtrak Regional service that might be a little cheaper. For an even cheaper option, take a SEPTA line to Trenton and transfer to NJ transit. I don't know about the SEPTA fare, but NJ transit, Trenton to NY Penn Station is $11.50 one way. Frequent business traveller PA to NY. 18-24 and depends on the peak, day, the time and which train the septa will connect to the new jersey transit which will deliver you to penn station, yeah! the amtrak is quicker and cost more and will deliver you to either penn station or grand central...the new jersey transit gives the right away to amtrak and lets them pass us by making the trip quicker $35 |
