Im thinking about moving to philadelphia from dallas but im worred about crime? |
Travel Info is crime in philadelphia out of control Travel Tips Yes crime can be bad in Philly, but it depends on where you live. As long as you dont move to north philly, west philly or southwest philly you will be ok. There are many nice neighborhoods like Center city, olde city, Manyunk, Northeast is ok. & the Philadelphia suburbs are very nice if you dont mind to be a little outside the city. Check out properties or rentals at craigslist or www.philly.com Others Crime in Philly is about the same as it has been. Dallas is obviously less crime but Philly's nothing like Baltimore or NYC. Live here! not necessarily. If you're moving into one of the rougher 'hoods, then yes, I'd call it out of control. Outside of those areas (parts of North Philly, Southwest Philly) you're generally going to be out of the way of violent, senseless acts. However, this being a city and all, there is always a possibility...obvioulsy. Check out this blog and see what you find. There is a current crime wave going on in Philly, but I like the town. I don't think you would be much surprised by the amount of crime in Philly as compared to Philly. What will shock you is the type of housing that you will run into. Philly is mostly row houses with small back yards...unlike Dallas. You just need to keep an open mind about things. It is a neat town...mix of NYC sophistication in a smaller package is all. Philly currently has the highest murder rate of any city stay away from North Philly - and its sub areas Logan, Germantown, NiceTown and west Philly and Southwest if you cant afford the Center city(Who Can) try The greater Northeast the farther out the better or the suburbs. try south jersey i am thinking about moving from philadelphia to texas but i am afraid of receiving the death penalty even though i am mentally retarded or severely mentally ill. let's just move to canada and die of old age |
