Travel Info Need a good hotel to stay at in philly near the airport that's not to expensive? Travel Tips A few years ago I stayed at the Embassy Suites near Philly Airport. Nice hotel, but it was teeming with very loud children running around everywhere! I checked-in, ordered food service and stayed in my room until daybreak. My personal favorite is the Residence Inn. I've not stayed at the one near Philly Airport, but the RI chain is owned by Marriott, so it's a nice hotel. I've always had a good stay at RI. Since airport hotels have to compete for and cater to the same clientele (airline crews and business travelers), it's a safe bet that they're all good hotels. The real difference is in the amenities they offer. So, review the hotels that are in your price range and pick the cheapest one that offers your favorite amenities-- free breakfast, pool, gym, internet access, etc. (A link to the Philly Airport hotels is below.) Also, please note that the Philly Airport hotels are in the middle of nowhere-- totally secluded. If you have an overnight layover with an early morning departure, then an airport hotel is perfect. If you're staying a few days and need to go into the city, then the commute from the airport can be a waste of time and money-- and a real hassle. You may change your mind and consider a hotel that's in the city. Then, it's a totally different ballgame--- location, location, location!! http://www.phl.org/hotels.html Good luck and have a safe trip. Others Motel 6 on RT.291 in Essington. ( 3 miles from the Airport). A further drive on 291 will bring you to Holiday Inn & the Ramada. This site seems to have everything... http://www.gophila.com/ |
