What are some fun things to do in Center City, Philadelphia? |
Travel Info my brother and i are going sometime this week..im 18 and my brother is 22. thanks! Travel Tips Well, theres the Franklin Institute which is always fun, even if you are 18 and 22. Besides being a museum they also have that Tuttlemen Omniverse/IMAX Theatre that shows regular movies and other educational kind of movies, http://movies.aol.com/theater/the-frankl... Then there is always South Street to walk around on, if your hungry go to Johnny Rockets on South Street, its a 40s/50s themed restaurant or go to Scoop Deville on Spruce Street for ice cream., they have the best ice cream. Ofcourse your gonna have to eat a cheesesteack so go to one of the famous places like Geno's or Pats, or try both and decided who you think is the best! You could visit The Gallery and go shopping or to the Shops at Liberty Palace: http://www.philadelphialiving.com/shoppi... Others South Street is always fun. It has a lot of cool shops and it is great place for people watching (especially between 2nd - 8th streets). They have a bunch of outdoor restaurants There is also the Art Museum and Franklin Institute that are really neat. Lots of night spots including Mad River, Finnegan's the Pour House to name a few. If you have cards. You have to try and see the Phillies play at the new ball park. It's awesome. Great food, and beverages, and lot of young people. South St. is certainly cool. There's always some sort of festivals going on at Penn's Landing. South St. is corny now. During the day it's like an out door shopping mall filled with mallrats & tourists. At night it's a slow moving fashion show filled with people who come to South St. to buy clothes to wear to South St. and people who come to get hit on and get mad when they get hit on. Check out the Mutter Museum (19 S. 22nd St.) It's full of medical oddities. Or the Zoo, that's always fun. The Phillies game is a great idea. Just hop on the Broad St. Line and it takes you right to the stadium. If you dig Electronic Music, some people throw great weekly events. "Electronic Chronic" at Liquid Charm at 1207 Race in Chinatown on Tuesdays and "Inside" at Medusa's Lounge at 22nd & Chestnut on Thursdays. They're both 18+. |
