I am going to Philadelphia for two weeks on the 2nd week in July.? |
Travel Info Where are the best place to eat? I love ethnic food, the hotter the better. What are things to do during the weekend within driving distance. Are there any large malls near downtown Philly? Travel Tips What type of ethnic food? Yes china town is in center city around 10th & Arch & the streets around it. If you go to south Philly you can get good italian food. If you go to north Philly you can get good Puerto rican food- try Freddy & Tony's on 2nd & allegheny. There are a few Cuban resturaunts, Alma de Cuba, Cuba Libre, Tierra Colombiana(colombian & Cuban). & there are some good Mexican restaraunts scattered around too. & even a Jamaican restaraunt called Denises Carribean food on N. Broad st, spicey food! But you must go try thr original cheesesteak from Pat's on 9th st & Passyunk in SOuth Philly, not far from center city. Of course you should see the liberty bell & go to the new constitution center & take a 'ride the ducks' tour. But there is some good nightlife if you go to center city, olde city & Delaware Ave. & yes you can go to the gallery right on Market & 8th st in center city or if you get a chance you can go to the NE & go to Franklin Mills or go to King of Prussia mall in the suburbs. Or you can also walk Chestnut st or South st for good shopping, not in a mall. Check out these site for tips. ENJOY!! Other Travel Tips Well you are going to miss all the 4th of july stuff, but still stuff to do. Try Chinatown! The Gallery & Gallery2 mall is right next door to Chinatown.
