PHILLY vs NYC?

Travel Tips
I suppose it depends. I love them both.

If you like being in cities, you can't help but love New York...and by New York, I mean Manhattan. If there is something rare and off beat in this world that you like to look around for when you have a chance (oh, say, Australian ice cream or German language first editions, or whatever), you will find a whole store full of it in Manhattan. It really is the city that never sleeps and from uptown to the Battery, there are people out having fun, going into shops, restaurants and night clubs 24/7. But living there can be just a tad pricey and stressful (to say the least).

Philly (my home town) is more laid back and much less intense. The downtown area is much smaller and the club/restaurant/bar scene is not as prominent. But there are compensations. For a bicycler like me, the Schuykill River Trail is among the best in the country, running from South Street up the river past Valley Forge. The Old City, Manayunk and Fairmount are great places to hang out, shop and dine. The cost of living is much lower and it is easy to find nice neighborhoods with good schools that are a reasonable commute to where ever you work.

So as I said, the answer, like so many is...it depends on what you like.

NYC is better
It matters what you want to do. New York City is incredible for going out and tasting modern life. Philadelphia is great for learning about American history and has some really cool modern areas.
I havent been to philly but i think NYC has more things to do. I live in NYC but i cant call it either way cuz i havent been to philly.
NYC!
i live in suburbs of philly, my answer would be NYC, hands down. Philly folk think they are like New Yorkers. they are not. New YORKERS are from everywhere, a real melting pot...philly is inbred for sure...people go to college, return, then have families and stay here. never leave. NYC is larger, much more to do, and friendler peeps...no wanna be attitudes.
I would say NYC because I grow up there but Philadelphia people are more friendly.
