Any good backpacking websites for a trip to the Philippines? |
Travel Info Any good backpacking websites for a trip to the Philippines? Travel Tips You should place trusting a website about travelling the Philippines second. First is, you need to but a Travel Guide. But one of those Lonely Planet which has a topic of the Philippines. There's a wealth of information there you can draw your plans from. Others Yup, Lonely Planet is every backpacker's bible. My volunteer friends swear by it. They have explored some places here I haven't even been to. Lonely Planet is indeed a good travel book BUT there has been some complaints lately about it. This has already been discussed a few months ago in the Lonely Planet Travel forum (I am a member of it). Do not rely solely on one travel book. Get another one and try to compare the information. You do not expect the book to be 100% accurate. I have checked the Lonely Planet information about my city and already found some mistakes. Tourist websites in the Philippines are not that popular yet. Most of the existing tourist websites are set up by foreigners who have their own resorts in the country. Some locals do have their own tourist websites but are quite obsolete.
