Travel Info An American citizen doesnt need a Philippine Visa, right? My friend is visiting and he's asking me if he needs a visa? Thanks Travel Tips If your friend is staying more than 21 days in the Philippines then he/she needs to secure a visa. <*-*> Nationals from USA who are travelling to the Philippines for business and tourism purposes are allowed to enter the Philippines without visas for a stay not exceeding twenty-one (21) days, provided they hold valid tickets for their return journey to port of origin or next port of destination and their passports valid for a period of at least six (6) months beyond the contemplated period of stay. However, Immigration Officers at ports of entry may exercise their discretion to admit holders of passports valid for at least sixty (60) days beyond the intended period of stay. If your friend is an ex-Philippine citizen who has acquired American citizenship, then he is entitled to stay in the Philippines up to one year without visa. Yes when your friend comes through customs he will get a 21 day visa and can extend to another 38 days if needed and then again to 59 days up to 1 year. Make sure he has at least 6 months left before his passport expires at time of entry. Best wishes for you and your new friend yes I think ur right!
