Travel Tips I am an American Pastor and we are living in Bogo, Cebu (the north end of Cebu Island) here for a nice 2 bedroom we pay.... We also lived in a 2 bedroom house with fence and yard for the same price, before we moved into town proper. 1. Rent: 3,000 piso (about $65. U.S.) 2. Elect. (with 1 window air) 3,000 - 3,500 pisos (depends on the season) I had a friend that had 3 air conditionars and his electric bill was 12,000 pisos per month. If you want to live more local style... 1. Rent: 2 Room w/shared toilet in a boarding house can be had for about 1,000 - 1,500 piso.(about $ 35. U.S.) 2. Elect. around 500.-1,000 piso. ($12 - $25 U.S.) and of course there is always better deals to be found and worse deals to be found. Others It really depends where in the philippines you will be staying. In cities, it ranges from P10,000 to P18,000 per month for average llocations. If you wish to stay in more expensive locations, it could be higher than that...say P25,000... For electricity, if you use aircon, bill might range from P2,000 to P4,000 if you dont stay at home the whole day.. i live in Metro Manila, Philippines It really depends on where the location is. If it's in Metro Manila rent is higher compared to provinces. We own apartment units, up and down, 2-bedroom. This is in Caloocan City. A unit costs P5,500-6,000 a month. Again, cost of electricity will depend on how much power you will consume. If you have all kinds of electrical appliances and machines (heater, ref, tv, water pump, lights, air-con, fan, microwave, etc), you will get a bill of around P3,000-6,000 a month. Depends also how many people are using them and how often. Where in the Philippines? I have a 2BR apartment, brand new, in Southern Leyte. The rent is P3500 a month. Electric runs about P1000 with window AC unit. It's a fairly nice place compared to some of the junk available. It's a four-plex with a fenced yard and the walls are actually painted and the floor is finished in tile. Rents are considerably higher in metro Manila or Cebu.
