Baguio, is it a nice place for an old man? |
Travel Info My old friend that is living in Mariveles said the heat is being terrible for his health, so he is planning to move to Baguio. Do you really think the heat is bad for people's health? Baguio is cooler because it is in the mountains, right? Any tips, ideas or advice? p.s. Baguio, also known as City of Pines or City of Flowers, lies on a plateau 1400m above sea level. Although for many visitors it's a little more than a stopping-off point en route to Sagada and the mountain provinces, Baguio, with its pine trees and rolling hills, has a few secrets worth discovering, such as its parks and bohemian caf茅s, and the climate is a pleasant respite from the searing heat of the south. So, It's ok for your friend to settle down back there since he is not used to the heat in the Philippines. If your old friend have enough money, Tagaytay was much more better place than Baguio. For sure during december-january, your friend would complain about the cold climate there in Baguio. Well, anything in extreme is not good for the health and that includes heat. Recently, extreme heat caused heat strokes to some people. Baguio is indeed a cool place. But the high slopes might not be good for older people. If you wish for a cooler place .you might want to check out .Tagaytay . Beautiful place, scenic view, tourist spot, and nice weather! I am familiar to both places baguio would be a great place to retire. the cost of living is low. the best thing i like in baguio is eating the freshest and cheapest vegetables! Baguio is very nice. Its much cooler then the low lying areas. Heat isn't good for older people. |
